Collection: Block Print Saree India

Block printing is one of India's oldest textile traditions, and Bagru village in Rajasthan is one of its most revered homes. At Mogasu, we bring this ancient craft into conversation with a very specific and very modern place: the coast of Goa, with all its colour, its architecture, its food and its extraordinary light. Every block-print saree in our India collection begins with a motif designed at our Goa studio a cashew blossom, a bird observed at the coast, a geometric borrowed from a Portuguese tile, a jaal pattern reimagined through a Goan lens. Each motif is then shared with the artisans where craftsmen carve it into a wooden block made exclusively for Mogasu. These are not stock blocks pulled from a shelf, they are custom tools built for our prints and our prints alone. The printing itself takes between one and one and a half hours per saree, using azo-free dyes on mul cotton, linen, Chanderi and Kota Doria. Small batches. Limited designs. Entirely handmade. Free shipping across India. Pre-washed, with a matching blouse piece.
