Goa is built from the earth literally. Laterite stone, the deep red-brown rock that forms the bones of this landscape, is cut into blocks and stacked into walls, churches, forts and the foundations of houses that have stood for centuries. Its colour shifts through the day: burnt orange in the morning sun, a deeper rust at noon, almost purple in the blue light before the monsoon breaks. This is the colour our founder reaches for when she designs for this collection. Our earthy tone handmade sarees draw from Goa's geological palette laterite reds, warm ochres, dried-leaf browns, the dusty terracotta of an unpaved Goan road in April. Each shade is applied using azo-free dyes by artisan hands in Bagru, Rajasthan, pressed from custom wooden blocks onto mul cotton, linen and Kota Doria. Botanical motifs and bird prints that suit the earthy palette. Booti and jaal in warm tones on natural ground.Handmade in the fullest sense. Colours that come from a place.Free shipping to India. Pre-washed, with a matching blouse piece.
