Collection: Jaal Pattern Saree Block Print
A jaal is an all-over pattern, a lattice or net that covers the entire surface of the fabric, every inch of the saree working together as a single continuous design. It is one of the most technically demanding forms of block printing: each impression must align precisely with the last, the repeat must be mathematically exact, and the craftsman must maintain that precision across the full six metres of a saree. At Mogasu, our jaal pattern block-print sarees are built on a foundation of Bagru artisan expertise, the kind of precision that only comes from years of daily practice, and filled with Goa-inspired geometry. Portuguese tile lattices. Geometric forms drawn from the carved windows of old Goan churches. Organic jaal patterns that reference the natural world: the overlapping leaves of a coastal plant, the web of mangrove roots. Each jaal design is custom-carved into wooden blocks made exclusively for Mogasu, then printed by hand using azo-free dyes on Chanderi, Kota Doria and linen. Made in small batches. Free shipping to India. Pre-washed, with a matching blouse piece.
