Kota Doria is among the most beautiful of India's handwoven textiles, and pairing it with a blouse piece that was printed from the same block, in the same session, by the same artisan hands, ensures a coherence that readymade separates rarely achieve. Our Kota Doria sarees are printed in Bagru, Rajasthan, using wooden blocks carved with prints designed at our Goa studio. The khat weave of the fabric those characteristic small squares created by alternating cotton and silk threads gives every print a delicate texture, as though the motif has been woven in rather than laid on top.
