The sangeet saree needs to dance. Not metaphorically, literally. It needs to move when you move, breathe when the room gets warm, and still look exactly right in the photographs taken between songs. Heavy fabric fails this test every time. Chanderi and linen pass it completely. At Mogasu, our sangeet cotton block print sarees draw from our most festive and vibrant print, the multicolour tropicals, the bold geometric tile patterns, the deep indigo jaals that cover the fabric completely and catch the light of a decorated venue beautifully. Each is hand block printed in Bagru, Rajasthan using azo free dyes on fabric that moves with the body rather than against it. The Goa-inspired prints in this collection carry the energy the sangeet deserves not the careful, restrained beauty of a formal occasion but the full, joyful expression of a celebration in progress. Pre-washed, ready to wear. Available as a ready-to-wear option for the guest who wants to focus on the dancing rather than the draping. Free shipping India. With matching blouse piece.
