At Mogasu, our soft cotton sarees are hand printed by artisans in Bagru, Rajasthan craftspeople who understand that the pressure of a wooden block, the consistency of the ink and the quality of the fabric all contribute to a finished saree that feels as good as it looks. We work with mul cotton and linen, both chosen for their exceptional softness and their ability to carry a hand block print beautifully. The inks settle into the fibre rather than sitting on top of it, giving each motif a depth and warmth that grows rather than fades with time and washing. The prints are designed in our Goa studio, drawn from the coastal world our founder fell in love with: the fruit, the flowers, the tiles, the sea, the small everyday beauty of life in this extraordinary state.
