Artisan Made Saree India

Artisan made is not a certification at Mogasu, it is a description. Our sarees are made by artisans in the most literal sense: by people who have developed a specialised skill over years of daily practice and apply it with a level of precision and knowledge that no machine replicates.
The artisans at our Bagru, Rajasthan workshop are block printers. They load a wooden block with azo free dye, position it on the fabric and press it with the exact weight and angle that experience has taught them produces the cleanest impression on that specific fabric. They do this repeatedly across six metres of saree, maintaining alignment and consistency by eye. They match colour without a shade card.
Each artisan made saree from Mogasu takes between one and one and a half hours to print. That time shows in the result,  in the depth of the impression, the warmth of the colour, the evidence of human hands that a machine-printed saree can never replicate.
