A booti is a small thing, a single motif, scattered across a saree in a repeat that looks effortless but is the result of careful placement and consistent craft. The booti print is one of India's most beloved block print traditions, and at Mogasu, we fill our bootis with Goa. A tiny cashew nut. A small fish mid-swim. A kokum in miniature. A single bird. A spice pod rendered in two colours at the scale of a thumbnail. Our booti motifs are drawn from the specific world of the Goan coast, each one small enough to scatter and repeat but detailed enough to reward the person who looks closely. Each booti design is custom-carved into a wooden block by our artisan partners in Bagru, Rajasthan, built for Mogasu's prints alone, and pressed by hand onto mul cotton and linen using azo-free dyes. The spacing of each booti across the six metres of a saree is done entirely by eye, which is why no two Mogasu booti sarees fall in exactly the same pattern. Free shipping to India. Pre-washed, with a matching blouse piece
