From a distance, a cashew orchard in season looks like someone has spilled warm light across the landscape, the fruit hanging fat and golden, the air around it smelling of something sweet and slightly fermented. It is one of the most distinctly Goan sights there is, and it is where our mustard yellow comes from. Our mustard yellow cotton sarees are printed in Bagru, Rajasthan using warm golden azo free dyes on mul cotton and linen natural fabrics that carry this particular shade with a depth and richness that synthetic weaves cannot replicate. The prints are Goa-inspired: cashew motifs that reference the harvest directly, botanical forms in contrasting dark tones against the mustard ground, bird motifs that pop against the warm yellow base.
