Saree Brand with a Story
The story of Mogasu is not a marketing narrative, it is just what happened. A NIFT-trained designer got married, moved to Goa and discovered that the place had completely changed what she wanted to wear. The heavy silks of her previous wardrobe felt wrong on the coast. The generic block prints available everywhere expressed nothing she felt. She started designing sarees for herself and discovered that other women wanted them too. That is Mogasu. Not a brand built in a boardroom with a positioning strategy, a brand built in a studio in Goa by a woman who needed it to exist and had the training to make it good. The prints come from this coast, from the cashew trees, the Portuguese tiles, the fish markets, the monsoon light, the childhood memories of a Goan festival that surface without warning and become motifs.
