Zero waste in fashion is an aspiration rather than an achievement,  there is always fabric off-cut, always some dye that does not make it onto the saree, always the packaging. At Mogasu, we are honest about this rather than claiming a credential we have not fully earned. What we can say is that our production philosophy actively minimises waste at every stage.
Small batch production means we do not manufacture more than we can sell, which eliminates the overstock waste that is one of fashion's most significant environmental problems. Natural fabric means the off-cuts biodegrade rather than persisting in landfill. Azo free dyes mean the water that carries the excess away from the printing process is not carrying carcinogens. Hand block printing means no energy-intensive machinery.
A Mogasu saree is not a zero waste saree. It is a saree made by a brand that takes waste seriously and has structured its production accordingly.
