Collection: Artisan Saree India

Behind every Mogasu saree is a pair of artisan hands in Bagru, Rajasthan, hands that know exactly how much pressure a wooden block needs, exactly how much dye to load, exactly how to align the next impression so the repeat falls true. This knowledge is not learned quickly. It is accumulated over years of daily practice in one of India's oldest block printing traditions. At Mogasu, we work directly with these artisans because we believe that the craft is inseparable from the saree. You are not simply buying a printed fabric, you are buying the hours, the skill and the lineage of a craftsperson whose family has been doing this work across generations. Each artisan saree from India in our collection is printed in small batches, using azo free dyes and Goa-inspired motifs designed at our coastal studio. Each one takes between one and one and a half hours to print, a measure of time that tells you exactly what kind of object you are holding. Pre-washed, ready to wear. Free shipping anywhere in India. With matching blouse piece.
