The coastal grandmother aesthetic is essentially Goa in saree form, linen, light, a little sun-faded, deeply at ease with itself. It is the woman who has nothing to prove and everything to enjoy. She wears what she loves, not what she is supposed to love, and what she loves is fabric that feels like a sea breeze and prints that look like they came from somewhere real.
At Mogasu, we did not set out to make coastal grandmother sarees. We set out to make sarees for women who live, or wish they lived, the way our founder does. On the Goan coast, in natural fabric, surrounded by the kind of beauty that does not require a filter.
Our linen and Kota Doria sarees are hand block printed in Bagru, Rajasthan using custom wooden blocks carved exclusively for Mogasu. Coastal motifs, shells, sea life, shoreline botanicals, in the warm, slightly weathered palette of a Goan afternoon. Colours matched by artisan eye, not shade card.
