There is a moment in the late afternoon when the Arabian Sea off Goa's coast becomes a shade of blue so deep and so saturated that it looks almost unreal, the kind of blue that makes you stop whatever you are doing and just look at it. Our founder has been looking at it since she moved to Goa, and it has been finding its way into fabric ever since.Our deep blue handblock sarees are printed in Bagru, Rajasthan using rich navy and deep blue azo free dyes on mul cotton, linen and Kota Doria. The depth of the shade is built through careful dye preparation and the natural porosity of the fabric, colours that go into the fibre rather than sitting on the surface. Custom wooden blocks carry white and cream motifs against the deep blue ground: bird silhouettes, jaal patterns, coastal geometric forms, booti scattered across a sea-dark base.A saree that carries the colour of the deepest part of the Goan sea.
