The conchas shell has been picked up on Goa's beaches for as long as people have walked them. It sits on temple altars, on the windowsills of old houses, in the hands of children who hold it to their ears to hear the sea inside. Its spiral is one of the most perfect forms in nature, a shape that has been used in Indian art and architecture for thousands of years and never once looked dated. At Mogasu, the conchas shell print is drawn with the respect that form deserves. Our founder sketched it directly from a shell found on a Goan beach, studying the spiral tightly at the apex, widening as it descends, the surface texture of the ridges, and sent that sketch to Bagru, Rajasthan where it was carved into a custom wooden block for Mogasu alone.
