Sustainability in fashion is a word that gets used carelessly. At Mogasu, we prefer to show rather than claim. Here is what our process actually looks like: we work with natural fabrics, mul cotton, linen, Chanderi and Kota Doria, that breathe, biodegrade and improve with age. We print exclusively with azo free dyes that carry no harmful chemicals into the fabric, the water or the artisan's hands. We produce in small batches, which means we do not make more than we can sell and we do not sell more than we have made with care. Each saree takes between one and one and a half hours to hand block print in Bagru, Rajasthan, a process that uses no electricity, no machinery and no shortcuts.
