Block Print Saree Sustainable India

Hand block printing is one of the most sustainable printing methods in textiles, and it is not sustainable because someone decided to market it that way. It is sustainable because of what the process actually is: a wooden block, a natural dye, a human hand and a piece of fabric. No electricity in the printing process. No chemical fixing agents. No machinery that requires constant maintenance and replacement.
At Mogasu, our sustainable block print sarees take this already sustainable process and make additional commitments on top of it. Natural fabric only,  mul cotton, linen, Chanderi and Kota Doria. Azo free dyes that are safe for the artisan, the wearer and the water system. Small batch production that eliminates overstock. Custom wooden blocks that are durable and reusable.
The sustainable block print saree from Mogasu is not a sustainable saree with a block print added on for credibility. It is a saree whose entire production philosophy is built around making honestly.
