Eco Friendly Saree India

An eco friendly saree is one whose production leaves the smallest possible footprint at every stage. At Mogasu, this starts with fabric, mul cotton, linen, Chanderi and Kota Doria are all natural fibres that biodegrade, breathe and improve with age rather than shedding microplastics with every wash. It continues with dye, azo free dyes that carry no harmful aromatic amines into the water system or against the artisan's skin. It ends with production volume, small batches that mean we do not make more than we can sell, eliminating the overstock problem that drives much of fashion's waste.
Hand block printing uses no electricity in the printing process itself. The wooden blocks are durable and reusable across many print runs. Our artisan partners in Bagru, Rajasthan use traditional techniques that have minimal infrastructure requirements.
Eco friendly at Mogasu is not a certification,  it is a set of decisions made at every stage of the process because they are the right decisions, not because they are marketable ones.
