Collection: Azo Free Dye Cotton Saree

Azo-dyes are synthetic colourants that break down over time into aromatic amines, compounds that research has linked to skin irritation and, in prolonged exposure, more serious health concerns. They are widely used in the textile industry because they are cheap and bright. At Mogasu, we do not use them. Every azo-free dye cotton saree in our collection is printed using dyes that have been tested and certified free of harmful azo compounds, safe for the artisan's hands during printing, safe against your skin during wearing, and safer for the water that carries the excess dye away after washing. This is not a marketing detail. It is a decision made because our founder wears these sarees herself. The azo-free dyes we use in Bagru, Rajasthan are colourfast and rich, they hold their colour across repeated washing on mul cotton, linen and Chanderi without fading into something pale and apologetic. The indigos stay deep. The earth tones stay warm. The florals stay vivid. Made in small batches. Free shipping to India. Pre-washed, with a matching blouse piece.
