Collection: Handcrafted Printed Saree

When you buy a handcrafted printed saree, you are making a decision about what you value. Not just in a saree, in the broader sense of what kind of objects you want to bring into your life and where you want your money to go. At Mogasu, we think that decision deserves to be met with complete transparency about what handcrafted actually means in our process. It means our founder designs every motif herself, at her studio in Goa. It means each design is sent to Bagru, Rajasthan where craftsmen carve it into a custom wooden block made exclusively for Mogasu, our designs, nobody else's. It means an artisan spends between one and one and a half hours pressing that block by hand across six metres of natural fabric, mul cotton, linen, Chanderi or Kota Doria, using azo-free dyes. It means the saree is made in a small batch, pre-washed, and shipped from Goa with a matching blouse piece. That is what you are buying. All of it, by hand, made for you.
