There are saree brands that use Goa as an aesthetic and saree brands that are actually from Goa. Mogasu is the latter. Our studio is here. Our founder lives here. The inspiration for every print comes from this coast, from what she sees, eats, walks past and finds beautiful on any given day.
Being a saree brand from Goa, India means that when we print a feni bottle or a kokum motif or a Fontainhas tile pattern, it is not a design decision made from a reference board in another city. It is a print made by someone who walked past the feni shack that morning, who has a kokum tree in the garden, who has spent hours in Fontainhas with a sketchbook.
Every saree is designed here, finished here and shipped directly from Goa to you. Our artisan partners are in Bagru, Rajasthan, where the block printing craft has been practised for centuries, and the collaboration between Goa and Bagru is what makes Mogasu entirely itself.
