Summer in India is not a season you dress for casually. It asks something of your wardrobe, lightness, breathability, the ability to look beautiful at nine in the morning and still mean it by six in the evening. At Mogasu, every saree we make is a summer saree, because every saree we make begins with the question: Will this feel good in the heat? We work with four fabrics mul cotton, linen, Chanderi and Kota Doria, each chosen for its open weave and natural breathability. Each saree is then hand-block printed in Bagru, Rajasthan, using azo-free dyes that are as gentle on the skin as they are on the eye. The prints are Goa-inspired, drawn from a coastline that knows a great deal about surviving summer in style. Our summer sarees are made in small batches, so every design stays limited.
